In a significant step towards transforming the country’s tourism landscape, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Tourism has unveiled Visit Ethiopia, a comprehensive digital platform designed to make travel planning easier and more efficient for visitors.

Launched yesterday in Addis Ababa, the new platform acts as a one-stop marketplace where tourists can book hotels, guided tours, car rentals, and other essential services  all in one place. The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to digitise the tourism sector and enhance the visitor experience from the moment of planning.

“The platform promotes our diverse attractions and brings together key players in the tourism value chain to deliver a seamless experience for visitors, starting from the booking stage,” said Tourism Minister Selamawit Kassa during the launch event. She also emphasised the platform’s user-friendly features and the potential economic benefits for the wider tourism ecosystem.

Developed with technical support from the Information Network Security Administration (INSA), the platform aligns with Ethiopia’s Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy, which aims to harness digital tools for national development.

“Visit Ethiopia is a game-changing platform that elevates the tourist experience,” said INSA Director General Tigist Hamid, stressing its role in building a smarter and more connected travel infrastructure.

To ensure the platform remains dynamic and responsive to user needs, the Ministry announced ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders such as Ethiopian Airlines Group, Immigration and Citizenship Services, Ethiopian Customs Commission, and service vendors. These partnerships will ensure continuous updates and new offerings to enhance the value delivered to tourists.

With Visit Ethiopia, the country takes a bold leap toward becoming a more accessible and digitally integrated destination for global travellers.
