Tourism Seychelles stepped up its engagement in the Southeast Asian market by hosting an exclusive Destination Workshop in Singapore, strategically targeting the city’s growing community of diving and ocean enthusiasts.

Organised in collaboration with The Wander Clan, the workshop positioned the Seychelles Islands as a leading destination for marine exploration and nature-based travel, highlighting its appeal to experience-driven travellers seeking authentic ocean encounters.

The intimate session brought together 30 carefully selected participants, primarily prospective travellers with a strong interest in diving who have yet to visit Seychelles. Specialised dive travel agents were also in attendance, accompanied by clients, reflecting increasing interest in the destination within niche marine travel segments.

Presenting on behalf of Tourism Seychelles, Mrs Amia Jovanovic-Desir, Manager for Southeast Asia, showcased the diversity of the islands, from iconic granite landscapes and protected marine parks to pristine beaches and thriving underwater ecosystems.

“Seychelles offers a rare combination of untouched natural beauty and rich marine biodiversity, making it an ideal destination for travellers seeking meaningful and immersive ocean experiences,” said Mrs Jovanovic-Desir. “Engaging directly with niche communities such as divers allows us to build deeper connections and showcase the true essence of our islands.”

The programme was further strengthened by testimonials from Mr Raj, CEO of IPC Group, and Mr John Thet, CEO of ADEX (Asia Dive Expo), who shared first-hand experiences from their Familiarisation (FAM) trip to Seychelles in November 2025. Their insights reinforced the destination’s reputation as a premier diving location with a distinctive island identity.

Adding industry expertise, Elizabeth Fideria of Big Blue Divers Seychelles highlighted the archipelago’s exceptional diving opportunities. With its dramatic granite formations, vibrant coral reefs, and encounters with manta rays, whale sharks, and sea turtles, Seychelles continues to stand out as a world-class diving destination in the Indian Ocean.

Beyond presentations, the workshop created valuable opportunities for direct engagement between attendees and tourism partners in a relaxed setting. A curated tasting of Takamaka Rum, the islands’ iconic local spirit, added an authentic cultural dimension to the experience.

The evening concluded with a lucky draw featuring Seychelles-themed prizes, including a grand prize sponsored by Big Blue Divers Seychelles: a three-night stay for two at The Salty Palms, combined with exclusive diving experiences in Seychelles.

Through targeted initiatives such as this, Tourism Seychelles continues to deepen its presence in Southeast Asia, strengthening relationships with high-value traveller segments and specialised trade partners while promoting sustainable, experience-driven tourism.
