Africa’s largest networking operation carrier Ethiopian Airlines Group has announced that it will launch its new three-times-weekly direct passenger service to Port Louis, Mauritius, effective July 12, 2026.

This new route to the idyllic island nation underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ strategic commitment to deepening continental integration while driving economic growth across Southeast Africa and beyond. By expanding regional connectivity, this service will elevate tourism, catalyze trade, and foster stronger people-to-people interactions, while creating an essential gateway that links regional markets to global networks.

The new service will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays according to the schedule below.

Regarding the new service, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew remarked: “We are delighted to launch this direct flight service to Mauritius, making it easier for Africans and other international tourists to visit this beautiful African island destination, while also enhancing business and trade opportunities. As a leading carrier on the continent, expanding our African network remains one of our top priorities, in line with our vision of strengthening connectivity among African nations and linking the continent more closely with the rest of the world.”

Prior to introducing this direct flight, Ethiopian Airlines served Mauritius through interline and codeshare partnerships via regional hubs like Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Antananarivo.

The launch of this direct route significantly enhances passenger convenience by providing faster travel times and seamless connection options across the region. Passengers can now book their flights using their preferred Ethiopian Airlines booking channels.
