AccorHotels will open a new 334-room hotel in Nairobi in the last quarter of this year, says the group’s Chief Executive for Middle East and Africa, Mark Willis.
Called Pullman Hotel, in Westlands, Nairobi, the property was first announced in 2015, with its opening originally set for mid-2018. The opening of the hotel was delayed from last year due to further upgrades, with completion now due in the fourth quarter of this year.
The hotel’s facilities will include four dining venues, meeting and conference facilities, a gym, swimming pool, and a spa.
AccorHotels is shifting its focus from its traditional North and West Africa markets to include East and Southern Africa. Key markets in Accor’s growth plan include opening seven hotels in Ethiopia, and three hotels in South Africa by next year.
