UNWTO’s Director for Africa to participate in Indian Ocean Tourism Connectivity Forum in Mauritius

Elcia Grandourt, Director, Regional Department for Africa at the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) is among a tall list of distinguished persons and experts who will be attending the Indian Ocean Tourism Connectivity Forum in Mauritius from May 30 – 31 this year.

Sponsored by the World Bank Group and the Government of Mauritius in collaboration with the Governments of Madagascar, Seychelles and Mozambique, the Indian Ocean Tourism Connectivity Forum will bring together policy makers and technical experts in the field of tourism connectivity to: identify and understand current tourism connectivity constraints in the sub region, learn from regional and international best practices in enhancing tourism connectivity and identify concrete opportunities for connectivity improvements and collaboration.

Event sessions, led by experts from the region and beyond, will explore air connectivity and visa facilitation to and between Indian Ocean countries and Mozambique, as well as approaches to enhancing tourism connectivity that can be applied across the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
