#ATLF2019: UNWTO endorses Africa Tourism Leadership Forum

The World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has thrown its weight behind the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) scheduled for 27-29 August 2019 in Durban South Africa.

The UN Tourism Organization through a communication from Madrid to the organizers confirmed the endorsement by UNWTO.

The Secretary-General Ambassador Zurab Pololikashvili is expected to deliver a message of support to the rich gathering expected to attend the 3-day conference.

The Director of the Africa Region at the UNWTO Elsia Grandcourt participated at the inaugural event in Accra and has been instrumental in ensuring that the event get the institutional support it needs.

The Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) is a Pan-African dialogue platform that brings together key stakeholders from Africa’s travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation sectors. It aims to provide continental platform for dialogue, networking, sharing insights and devising strategies for sustainable travel and tourism development across the continent.

Below is the outline for the event

• _27 August – Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit – Side Event.
• _28 August – Africa Travel and Tourism CEOs and Business Tourism Master Class.
• _29 August – Africa tourism leadership forum and Africa Tourism Leadership Awards

This year’s event is being organized by Africa Tourism Partners, BDO South Africa in association with KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, South Africa.
