Sarova Hotels Group in Kenya has announced the cessation of the management of two Lodges; the Taita Hills Game and Salt Lick Game effective July 1, 2020.

In a notice, the hotel said it will no longer operate the two facilities after expiration of a 13-year of management contract.

In a letter dated 6th May 2020, the Managing Director Jimi Kariuki explained: ”We have been operating the 2 lodges since 2007 on a 13 years management contract which expires on 30 June  2020.

”It has been a very successful 13 years for Sarova Hotels in which we have been proud to have our brand associated with the 2 properties and in which we have fully met our obligations as the operator under the agreement.”

He maintains that the strategy of the hotel remain the same as it identify new opportunities to grow the  brand’s footprint in Kenya and beyond.

”However, as we are not the owners of the 2 properties and have only been the operator, the decision not to enter into a fresh management contract beyond 30 June 2020 is mutual between the owner and Sarova,” he added.

”Our strategy in terms of growth of our portfolio remains the same – to identify new opportunities to grow our brand footprint in Kenya and in the Africa region through management contracts, partnerships and acquisitions.”

Sarova has been in the hospitality business for 45 years and we have a portfolio of hotels, resorts and game lodges located around Kenya.
