The UN Agency in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic launched the campaign to rally the tourism community to heed to the respective Government advise and only travel tomorrow when it is safe to travel.

By Staying Home Today, We Can Travel Tomorrow:

The hashtag #TravelTomorrow encapsulates this message of solidarity and hope, through which the World Tourism Organization calls for shared responsibility among travellers and the tourism sector around the world to deal with the deadly pandemic.

The Secretary General  Zurab Pololikashvili has repeatedly highlighted the resilience of the tourism sector and called on national governments to go beyond words to commit  towards a recovery of the sector hardest hit.

”This crisis has shown the strength of solidarity across borders. But nice words and gestures will not protect jobs or help the many millions of people whose lives are dependent on a thriving tourism sector,” Pololikashvili said.

”Governments have an opportunity to recognize tourism’s unique ability to not only provide employment but to drive equality and inclusivity.

”Our sector has proven its ability to bounce back and help societies recover. We ask that tourism is now given the right support to once again lead recovery efforts.”
