The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) and women in Tourism from the private sector have organised a day trip to Tarangire in the Manyara Region as a sign of appreciation and recognition of women’s role in Tourism.

The trip was one of the several events earmarked by the Board and its partners to celebrate the contribution of women to the tourism industry.

The Deputy Minister for Natural resources and Tourism, Hon Mary Masanja was the chief guest for the occasion.

This is the first time for TTB to organise such an event. The Tourist Board believes this also affords them the opportunity to promote domestic tourism.

More than 270 women participated in the event today.

The event was also used to congratulate the Managing Director of TTB Ms. Devota Mdachi for her achievement for being voted as the Best Woman leader in the tourism and hospitality category of Mwanamke Shujaa2021(She heroes awards) given by Coca-cola Tanzania
