Ghana’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and culture has participated in the just-ended UNWTO Brand Africa conference for the swift recovery of the tourism sector in Windhoek, Namibia.

Led by the Ministry’s Chief Director Yao Abgeko, the Ghana contingent also featured the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Akwasi Agyeman.

The meeting which was the UN Tourism Organization’s first in-person meetings since COVID assembled tourism ministers, branding and marketing experts, and private sector players in Windhoek.

The GTA boss who was on the panel looking at branding highlighted the need for adequate resource allocation as well as collaboration with other state actors to help position countries’ brand and Africa’s image in the minds of travellers.
