Tourism activities in the archipelago Island of Cabo Verde is witnessing a steady rise after over a year and a half of closure.

Coming at the back of a successful hosting of the 64th World Tourism Organization(UNWTO) Commission for Africa Meeting in Sal Island, Travel Group TUI has resumed scheduled flights to Sal and Boa Vista Islands via Düsseldorf, Hanover and Frankfurt.

Operating the B-737-800 aircraft, the group made its first stop in Boavista with 73 passengers and the rest proceeded to the Amílcar Cabral International Airport in Sal where arriving tourists from Hanover were received to the sound of morna, immaterial heritage of humanity.

With this latest development and the laudable vaccination program underway, the tourism sector is expected to have some sigh of relief and additional confidence for travellers to make Cabo Verde a must-visit.

With this further step, conditions are being created so that businesses can operate in full.
