In a strategic move to boost connectivity and tourism, Tourism Seychelles and Air Seychelles partnered to conduct engaging travel trade workshops in Réunion. This initiative follows the recent agreements signed with Air Austral and Air Mauritius to promote new connecting flights on the Réunion-Mauritius-Seychelles routes.

The workshops, held in the key cities of Saint Denis and Saint Gilles Les Bains in Réunion, saw significant participation from travel trade professionals. Representing Air Seychelles were Nicole Mancienne (Head of Commercial), Franky Hetimier (Manager of Sales & Market Development – Commercial), and Salim Mohungoo (GSA Manager Mauritius Office). Bernadette Honore, Senior Marketing Executive for the Réunion/Indian Ocean region, represented Tourism Seychelles, while Air Mauritius also had a notable presence.

During the sessions, Air Seychelles conducted a comprehensive product presentation, introducing the Réunion travel trade professionals to their new market representative, Mr. Salim Mohungoo. The workshops were highly interactive, with attendees keenly inquiring about the technical aspects of Air Seychelles flights on the Mauritius-Seychelles routes.

Tourism Seychelles’ presentation focused on strategic marketing actions designed to empower travel trade professionals to drive sales on the Réunion-Mauritius-Seychelles routes.

Speaking about the workshops, Ms. Bernadette Honore stated, “With the new connecting routes, we must continue working with our main partners in Réunion to engage and restore their confidence to push sales on the Réunion-Mauritius-Seychelles routes. The presence of Air Seychelles in this workshop contributed to giving assurance to the Réunion travel trade professionals to commercialize the new connecting routes.”

The collaborative effort between Tourism Seychelles and Air Seychelles underscores their commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and promoting tourism, ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers and fostering stronger commercial ties within the Indian Ocean region.

“These workshops provided the platform we needed to showcase our product to the trade now that we have signed the agreements to offer alternative travel opportunities between the Seychelles and Reunion through Mauritius.” shares Nicole Mancienne, Head of Commercial at Air Seychelles.

The recently signed agreements, established due to Air Austral’s suspension of direct flights to Seychelles, create seamless end-to-end flights and competitive fares from Réunion to Seychelles via Mauritius. Under this arrangement, Air Austral and Air Mauritius are responsible for the Réunion-Mauritius leg, while Air Seychelles operates the Mauritius-Seychelles segment.
