Superstars Ihar Bryshtsel, Chiky, Josep Jr, Be and Leo Martins, Mauricinho, Raoul Mendy, Ali Mirshekari, Ozu Moreira, Rodrigo and Jordan Santos headline the official squads for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025™. The tournament will kick off on Thursday 1 May.

Forty-year-old Bruno Xavier will miss out on his first World Cup since 2011. Alisson and Ze Lucas, who also helped Brazil seize a sixth star at UAE 2024 Dubai, were also overlooked, with Marco Octavio selecting Antonio, Lucao and Benjamin Jr, the son of one of the greatest players of all time.

Emiliano Del Duca picked nine of the 12 players who helped Italy finished runners-up last year. Among them are Leandro Casapieri, the planet’s reigning Best Men’s Goalkeeper, Luca Bertacca and Josep Jr, the adidas Golden Ball winner at the last global finals. A muscle strain ruled out Marco Giordani.

Two-time champions Portugal boast a star-stacked squad. Be Martins and Jordan Santos, two of the three finalists for the Best Men’s Player for 2024, are in it, along with Leo Martins, who has scored 23 goals in 13 appearances in the tournament. Rui Coimbra, who agonisingly stopped from going to the last two World Cups because of 11th-hour injuries, made Mario Narciso’s cut.

Other superstars heading to the Seychelles include Belarussian Bryshtsel, Iranians Mirshekari and Mohammadali Mokhtari, Japanese Takuya Akaguma and Ozu, Senegalese Al Seyni Ndiaye and Raoul Mendy, Spaniards Chiky and Kuman, and Tahitian Heimanu Taiarui.
