The Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) has unveiled a suite of new tourism products and services alongside its new corporate signage at its Accra forecourt on May 12, signaling a deliberate shift toward structured, commercially driven tourism development.
The rollout introduces five core products designed to improve coordination, deepen domestic tourism and enhance visitor experience delivery.
At the centre is the Ghana Tourism Marketplace (GTM), a centralized digital platform connecting tourism businesses directly with consumers. Supporting this is the Fleet Pool Management Services (FPMS), aimed at strengthening transport and logistics across tourism operations.

The portfolio also includes Campus Connect, a youth-focused initiative engaging Senior High School students as tourism ambassadors through experiential exposure to university campuses; the Ghana Tourism Calendar, an integrated event discovery and ticketing platform; and Accra By Night, an open-top bus experience designed to expand nightlife tourism in the capital.
Chief Executive Officer of GTDC, Prof. Kobby Mensah, positioned the unveiling as a reflection of renewed institutional clarity, improved systems and a commitment to execution.
“What we are presenting today reflects a deliberate effort to reposition GTDC as a commercially responsive and solution-driven institution. With the right systems, partnerships and board support in place, we are now able to design and deliver products that directly respond to gaps within Ghana’s tourism ecosystem,” he said.
He added that the focus going forward is to build scalable, market-relevant solutions that strengthen service delivery across the tourism value chain.
A major highlight of the event was GTDC’s clear positioning of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) as a strategic growth pillar.
Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Felicity Nelson, highlighted this direction, citing Ghana’s successful bid to host the ACI FMA World Congress 2026 as a defining moment.

“This is not just about hosting an event. It is about demonstrating Ghana’s institutional readiness, coordination capacity and ability to deliver world-class international conferences. MICE presents one of the most immediate pathways for scaling tourism’s economic impact,” she stated.
She emphasized that GTDC’s role in the upcoming congress extends beyond promotion to full-spectrum coordination across institutions.
“Successful conferencing today goes beyond venues. It requires seamless coordination, logistics, safety systems, cultural integration and experience design. This is where GTDC is positioning itself as a central facilitator.”
Backed by global data, she noted that the business events industry generates approximately $1.6 trillion globally, reinforcing the scale of opportunity for destinations that can organize, host and retain high-value events.
She further indicated that GTDC’s evolving role is to anchor Ghana’s MICE ambitions within a structured ecosystem that links aviation, hospitality, transport, event management and destination marketing into a unified delivery model.
“Our objective is to move beyond fragmented efforts and build a coordinated MICE ecosystem that positions Ghana as a competitive hub for business events in Africa, while ensuring that the economic benefits are widely distributed across the value chain,” she added.

A key component of the new product suite is the Ghana Tourism Investment Platform (GTIP), designed to bridge the long-standing gap between bankable tourism projects and potential investors. The platform will curate, structure and present investment-ready opportunities across accommodation, attractions and infrastructure, providing a clear pipeline for both local and international investors seeking entry into Ghana’s tourism value chain.
The unveiling marks a notable transition in Ghana’s tourism approach from largely promotional efforts to a product-led, revenue-driven model anchored in service delivery and institutional collaboration.
By introducing integrated platforms such as GTM and the Tourism Calendar, alongside experiential offerings like Accra By Night, GTDC is seeking to formalize demand channels, improve visitor engagement and unlock new commercial pathways within the sector.

The addition of its new corporate signage, unveiled at the forecourt of the company’s headquarters, symbolizes this reset, projecting a more visible, structured and forward-facing identity aligned with its expanded mandate.
