Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of the first Radisson Blu Hotel in Conakry, Republic of Guinea.

The Radisson Hotel Group has 90 hotels and more than 18,000 rooms in operation and under development in its African portfolio.

The signing of Radisson Blu Hotel Conakry has added another market to the fast-growing Radisson Hotel Group portfolio, bringing it to a total of 31 active African markets.

Scheduled to open in 2019, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Conakry will be the brand’s first property in the capital city of Guinea, an important hub within Francophone west Africa.

The hotel will lead the upper upscale hotel market of Conakry with its prime location, accessibility, and international upper upscale branding.

The hotel will be ideally positioned near the city centre, and will be surrounded by the Convention Centre, Palais du Peuple, the National Hospital and multiple embassies.
Conakry International Airport will be less than ten kilometres away.

Erwan Garnier, director, development, sub-Saharan Africa, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “In ECOWAS, of which the Republic of Guinea forms part of, Radisson Hotel Group has 20+ hotels in operation and under development and is active in nine of 16 countries.

“The region is overflowing with opportunity, to leverage these opportunities, we are executing a robust strategy to expand our presence in this market and already have each of our five Radisson Hotel Group brands in operation and under development here.
