Miss Tourism Ghana 2019: Celestina Baffowaa Obeng crowned winner

The 23-year old health worker was crowned the Miss Tourism 2019 Queen last Friday night at the Grand Finale which was held at the National Theatre, Accra.

Celestina who represented the Northern Region beat off competition from nine other contestants to emerge winner of the 10th edition. Besides clinching the crown, she annexed five other awards on the night, including; Miss Regional Presentation, Miss Eloquence, Most Civic, Miss Clear Skin and Miss Personality. Speaking to the media after the show, the new Queen said she was going to embark on a massive campaign to sensitize the youth on the need to promote domestic tourism.

“I believe that if we carry the message well to the younger ones, Ghana’s tourism will reach far and also help promote the government’s campaign to wear made in Ghana clothes, eat made in Ghana food and also appreciating our culture more, Celestina said.”

For her prize she takes home souvenirs and products from sponsors including a year-long supply of GTP fabrics. Mrs. Delphine Brew-Hammond, Director of the Miss Tourism Ghana organization said she would be also given an official car which will be chauffeured to ease transportation as he she attends various events.

In addition, she gets to represents the country in other international pageants and attend international tourism related shows with her princesses and in some cases, the final five.
