With Kenya officially set to reopen to international air travels from Aug 1, rebranded salt lick safari lodge and its Taita resort and spa is leaving no stone unturned to offer guests the exclusive and unbeatable offering of the properties.

The three properties have undergone massive renovation during the lockdown and also instituted measures to ensure that the health and safety protocols are applied to the latter.

The “new“ Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa has the zebra as it’s icon and offers an urban feel“. With the newly tarmacked Voi – Taveta- Arusha highway cutting through our sanctuary it means accessibility is now a breeze.
 
Then Salt Lick Lodge becomes “ Salt Lick Safari Lodge “ with a tag line of “ Where the magic never ends“. As expected Elephant is the icon.


 
The sanctuary is the Group’s third brand “ Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary “ christened “ The Heart Of Tsavo. The 28,000 acres or 110SqKM private sanctuary is home to Big Four of Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes & Leopard. large herds of Elephants call this sanctuary home and It is not uncommon to see 500 herds on a daily basis coming to drink water at dedicated points.

Over 1000 buffaloes are residents while the sanctuary also boasts of a pride of lions and resident leopards.  The rich birdlife makes this sanctuary such a bird watcher paradise. A serious reforestation project is currently being undertaken to restore biodiversity. We are also happy to report that close to 200KM of sanctuary roads have been rehabilitated. Changes that we have made include the reduction of park fees for both domestic and international guests. Sanctuary fees are as low as Ksh 275  and even better news is that guests staying at Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa are now exempt from park fees unless they access the sanctuary.  Park fees have also been reduced from $45 & $35  to $30 & $25  for high and low season respectively until 30th June 2021 for international guests.

With the new Samburu Kwale road, your connection to the south coast for beach extension has now been made very easy so is easy access to North coast Via Madaraka Express bypass to Kilifi and Malindi.

The three brands have also put in place detailed COVID 19 guidelines and protocols to ensure you enjoy your stay with the least worries.

Salt Lick Safari Lodge
For decades Salt Lick Safari Lodge has been one of Kenya’s flagship lodges, famed for being among the World’s Most Photographed Lodges. Taita Hills Safari Resort & SPA

Located at the main entrance to the Sanctuary, Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is an inviting stone building of 60 spacious rooms and two suites, all with their own private viewing balcony. It has a museum that displays some of the World War 1 memorabilia as part of the rich history of Taita Taveta County.

Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is located South Eastern Kenya, 400 km from Nairobi and 200 km from Mombasa and 45km from Voi Train Station. An hour flight from Nairobi or 30 min from Mombasa by private charter landing directly at the sanctuary’s own airstrip minutes away from the Resort. The sanctuary is a 3-hour drive from Mombasa and a 6-hour drive from Nairobi on tarmac roads.
