The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is leaving no stone unturned to stage yet another successful General Assembly in covid era this year in Morocco’s cultural heartbeat of Marrakech.

The Secretary General of the UN Tourism body Zurab Pololikashvili is leading a delegation to pay an official visit to the host country from Feb3-5 2021.

During the visit to the North African country, the UNWTO scribe is expected to hold closed door meetings and sessions with Morocco’s Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy Nadia Fettah Alaoui as well as other senior members of the Moroccan Government.

Highlights of the visit will be the inspection and visit to the General Assembly site in Marrakech as well as meetings with the Tourism private sector in Morocco.

The Kingdom of Morocco won the hosting right to stage Tourism’s biggest gathering in 2019 during the 23rd General Assembly in St Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Morocco is a founding member and dedicated partner of the UNWTO since the establishment of the organization.
