Air Seychelles yesterday flew India men’s national cricket team to Johannesburg for their 2021-22 South African Tour three four-day matches and series set to start from 23 November, 2021.
The team, combined of some big Indian Cricket Premier League players and several exceptionally young talented cricketers, successfully landed at the O R Tambo International Airport on 18 November 2021 at 12.15pm, following a brief intermediary refuelling stop in the Seychelles. Air Seychelles Chief Commercial Officer, Charles Johnson commented: “It’s very exciting for us to fly this prestigious team to South Africa for their upcoming series. Sports teams in Africa and across the Indian Ocean have come to rely on Air Seychelles for their charter needs, delivering their players in a safe and reliable manner. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to returning them home in December”.
Led by 31-year-old Gujarat top-order batter, Priyank Panchal and wicket-keeper, Upendra Yadav, matches for the Men in Blue will be played in the judicial capital of South Africa, Bloemfontein, between 23 November and 9 December 2021, whilst the main tests games against South Africa will commence from 17 December, 2021.
Maintaining its title as the official sports airline of Africa, Air Seychelles continues to strive for safety, flexibility and reliability as more teams look into aircraft charters for flight solutions. With the ease in travel restrictions globally, Air Seychelles is now flying back to all of its pre-pandemic destinations, including Johannesburg, Mauritius, Tel Aviv, Maldives and Mumbai.
