Labadi Beach Hotel, recognized as one of Ghana’s premier five-star establishments, proudly highlighted its commitment to sustainability and growing international tourism presence at ITB Berlin 2024.

George Ayisi, Head of Sales, expressed enthusiasm for the invaluable networking opportunities and productive interactions facilitated by the event.

Ayisi remarked: ”This year marks our second year of coming to ITB, and I think it’s been a very good interaction. It has been a very productive year meeting all the people that matter in travel and tourism, consolidating all the gains that we have made in the previous year, and also making new contacts, looking into the European market, as well as the Americans and others. It’s been a very engaging experience in the last two days.”

Ayisi expanded on Labadi Beach Hotel’s unwavering dedication to sustainability and community engagement, affirming that: “And of course, you cannot talk about this without mentioning sustainability. Our focus now, as we all know, is on maintaining an eco-friendly environment and providing sustainable services.

” Our hotel remains committed to driving initiatives aligned with sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles, which have become increasingly significant in our industry. Those seeking to do business with hotels and destinations like ours are eager to learn about our environmental efforts and the impact we have on our people and communities.”

He emphasized: “It’s simply a matter of documenting our efforts. For instance, we have implemented a wastewater recycling system to ensure nothing goes to waste. Additionally, for the past eight years, every Friday, we have been feeding hundreds of children through the Street Children Academy program, which has had a tremendous impact on society. Moreover, for the past 15 years, we have sponsored heart surgeries for children, costing us about $6,000 to $8,000 annually, in partnership with the Children’s Heart Foundation, Ghana. Our sustainability efforts and community impact initiatives need proper documentation to align with our goals.’’

As for the hotel’s guest demographics, Ayisi disclosed Labadi Beach Hotel’s widespread appeal spanning across continents.

“Our primary markets include the Americas, particularly the US, along with significant patronage from European countries like Germany and France. Notably, we’ve seen a rise in group business from Kenya and Nigeria, further diversifying our international clientele,” he disclosed.’’
