The Republic of Seychelles Permanent representative to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Sylvestre Radegonde has paid a courtesy call on the Secretary General of the Organization.

Presenting his credentials to Ambassador Zurab Pololikashvili at the UNWTO’s Madrid headquarters, Mr Louis Radegonde told the Secretary General of the willingness of the Seychelles Island to partner the UN Tourism Organization to develop a tourism satellite account.

Both parties earlier this year announced collaboration to develop and strengthen the Seychelles Island’s tourism statistical systems and the tourism satellite account.

The Secretary General of the UNWTO Zurab Pololikashvili on his part said, he was impressed with the contribution of 15% of all jobs in Seychelles coming from tourism.

The Secretary General expressed his appreciation to the envoy for sharing the Seychelles story on using tourism as a tool for sustainable growth and inclusion.
