Liyah Phiri embarks on campaign to promote tourism in Zambia

Miss Tourism Ambassador Africa, Liyah Phiri has initiated a campaign aimed at showcasing the country’s tourist destinations to the world.

The campaign was initially initiated by the Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Arts and Culture and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife.

Ms. Phiri seeks to promote sustainable economic growth and other benefits to the local communities and residents through this new initiative.

“I strongly believe that despite all challenges, domestic tourism is very vital, and aside the enormous impact it has on the agricultural sector, it has great potential to transform Zambia’s economy sustainable, especially through its opportunities for job creation in all areas of the country.I also seek to conserve and protect the natural environment as well as ensuring respect of customs, traditions and cultural heritage,” she said.
