Organisers of the African Tourism Week (SAT) are asking patrons and the general public to disregard recent developments and reports making the rounds that seem to malign the event.

In a communiqué copied VoyagesAfriq, organisers say this year’s edition will go on as already scheduled.

“We would like to inform everyone that the management and the team organizing the African Tourism Week have been victims of usurpation, boycott and unjustified defamation both on social networks and with our strategic and institutional partners.

“We would like to assure you that legal measures with the competent authorities have been taken and are continuing their processes. In the same context, all steps to guarantee the intellectual property of the event’s name have been taken,” part of the statement reads.

Oragnisers are urging the public to go on to their websites to be updated on latest happenings on the upcoming event.

“We would like to assure you that the African Tourism Week will take place as planned from 24 to 27 September 2019 in Dakar, Senegal for its second edition. For more information, please go to websites: https://satafrica.org/ or https://africatours.world/sat/ Thank you for your trust and continued support.”
