Cabo Verde Tourism is set to undergo a rebranding next month in what is expected to enhance the country’s image and boost tourist visitations.

The Executive Director for Cabo Verde Tourism Francisco Martins disclosed this in an interview with VoyagesAfriq at this year’s FITUR 2024 in Madrid.

Martins discussed how the rebranding aims to enhance tourism strategy as it is aimed at boosting tourism as well as redefine tourism experiences in Cabo Verde.

He said, “We are rebranding our logo and are planning to present the new brand on February 16th in Cape Verde and on February 29th in Lisbon. The rebranding is something that came from the strategic plan of my team and it is important because the new brand should be more specific about who Cabo Verde is.”

Beyond the rebranding, Cabo Verde Tourism is also putting the island under the spotlight as a destination of exciting and immersive cultural events and carnivals. Martins revealed that there is a long line up of such events starting in April and all throughout the year, which not only showcase the rich cultural heritage of the country, but also boost tourism.

The Executive Director led a contingent of tourism businesses and stakeholders to FITUR where he expressed delight with the interest by visitors to their exhibition stand, especially by the Spanish market.

“The Spanish-speaking markets are willing to come to Cabo Verde. They are keen to see what we have to offer. I also feel this is the best moment for Cabo Verde to move forward with the market because we want to diversify the Spanish market or European market. It can be the hub to other markets in Europe, South America, and North America as well, “ Martins explained.
